JR Stainless Steel Flexible Metal Hose Overview
The Mingchao JR Stainless Steel Flexible Metal Hose is a braided corrugated metal hose assembly designed to provide flexibility between piping and connected equipment.
The corrugated stainless steel hose forms the flexible pressure-containing element, while the external stainless steel braid reinforces the assembly and helps control elongation under internal pressure.
JR assemblies are available from DN8 to DN400, with flanged connections as the standard configuration and other end connections available according to confirmed project requirements.
Typical applications include HVAC systems, pump and equipment connections, water and steam lines, power facilities, industrial piping and other services where the selected material is compatible with the operating medium.
Final selection should consider pressure, temperature, medium, required length, movement, bend radius, end connections and installation geometry.

Corrugated Hose & Stainless Steel Braid Construction
The JR assembly combines a corrugated stainless steel hose with an external stainless steel braid.
The corrugated hose provides flexibility, while the braid reinforces the assembly and helps restrain pressure-induced elongation. The final pressure capability and flexibility of an assembly depend on hose diameter, hose material, braid configuration, temperature, end fittings and overall assembly design.
The braid and corrugated hose should be treated as an engineered assembly rather than as independent components.
JR is a flexible hose product and should not be confused with a metal bellows expansion joint designed specifically for direct axial compensation.

Static bend radius applies to a fixed installation condition. Dynamic bend radius should be considered where repeated flexing is expected. Size-specific maximum working-pressure values are not shown here pending factory confirmation of the source pressure-rating data. Final allowable pressure must be confirmed for the selected size, braid configuration, temperature, end fittings and assembly design.
Flanged & Custom End Connection Options
Flanged connections are the standard configuration for the JR Stainless Steel Flexible Metal Hose.
Other end configurations can be reviewed according to the customer's piping and equipment requirements, including alternative flange configurations, threaded ends and other project-specific connections where confirmed.
For quotation, please provide the required end-connection specification or a drawing whenever possible.
Do not assume flange drilling or thread compatibility from nominal hose size alone. Connection dimensions should be confirmed before manufacture.

JR Flexible Metal Hose vs. Grooved-End Flexible Metal Hose
| Selection Point | JR Stainless Steel Flexible Metal Hose | Grooved-End Flexible Metal Hose |
|---|---|---|
| Main Product Role | General industrial flexible metal hose assembly | Flexible hose for grooved piping systems |
| Model | JR | No fixed model |
| Standard Connection | Flanged | Grooved-End |
| Size Range | DN8–DN400 | DN32–DN350 |
| Design Pressure | 0.25–6.4 MPa | 0.25–2.5 MPa |
| Material Information | Stainless steel material grades are available in current JR source data | Product-level material grades require confirmation |
| Typical Selection Focus | Material, length, bend radius, braid, pressure, temperature and end connections | Grooved-end compatibility, length, routing, pressure, temperature and equipment connection |
| Typical Systems | HVAC, pumps, water, steam and industrial piping | HVAC, pumps, building services and grooved industrial piping |
The two products serve related but different connection requirements. JR is the broader stainless steel flexible metal hose platform, while the Grooved-End Flexible Metal Hose is selected specifically where a compatible grooved-end piping connection is required.
Neither product should be treated as a direct axial bellows compensator.
Installation, Routing & Bend-Radius Considerations
A straight braided metal hose must be installed as a flexible assembly within its confirmed routing and bend-radius limits.
Prevent Twisting
Do not twist the hose assembly during installation.
No Axial Fit-Up
Do not compress or extend a straight braided metal hose axially to make it fit an installation.
Minimum Bend Radius
Maintain at least the confirmed minimum bend radius.
Protect End Fittings
Avoid sharp bends near hose end fittings.
Allow Sufficient Length
Use sufficient hose length for the required movement and installation geometry.
Control the Bending Plane
Keep repeated flexing within the intended bending plane where applicable.
Independent Support
Support connected piping and equipment independently.
Avoid External Weight
Do not allow unsupported pipe or equipment weight to compress the hose.
Protect the Assembly
Protect the braid and corrugated hose from abrasion, impact, weld spatter and other mechanical damage.
Confirm Service Conditions
Confirm pressure, temperature, medium and material compatibility before installation.
Inspect Before Service
Inspect the corrugated hose, braid, end fittings and attachment weld areas before service.
Axial Thermal Growth
Where significant axial thermal expansion must be absorbed, use an appropriate engineered hose loop or suitable expansion joint after technical review rather than directly compressing or extending a straight braided hose.
