KXT Single Sphere Rubber Expansion Joint Overview

The KXT is a single sphere rubber expansion joint designed for flexible flanged connections in piping systems. Its compact spherical rubber body helps isolate vibration, reduce transmitted noise and accommodate axial, lateral and angular movement between connected pipe sections.

In different international markets, this product may also be described as a single sphere flexible rubber joint, rubber flexible joint or spherical-type rubber flexible joint. Mingchao supplies the KXT in sizes from DN32 to DN1200, with multiple face-to-face lengths, rubber compounds and flange configurations available for different piping requirements.

The single-sphere design is commonly used where a compact flexible connection is required between piping, pumps or equipment. Custom sizes up to DN3000 and special flange or dimensional configurations are available according to confirmed drawings and project requirements.

Dimensions & Flange Standards

KXT rubber expansion joints can be supplied with different flange configurations for domestic and international piping projects. Flange drilling must be selected according to the mating pipeline or equipment flange; different standards should not be treated as interchangeable.

Verified dimension references are available for GB PN6 / PN10 / PN16, JIS 5K / JIS 10K and ANSI 150LB. The KXT catalog also lists GB, HG, ANSI, DIN, BS, EN and JIS as available flange production options. Project-specific flange drilling and dimensions must be confirmed against the required mating flange.

Flange pressure class and rubber-joint working pressure are separate selection parameters. Confirm both when requesting a quotation.

Rubber Materials & Construction

The KXT uses a single-sphere flexible rubber body between flanged pipe connections. Available rubber compounds include NR, EPDM, CR, IIR, NBR and FKM (Viton).

Rubber compound selection should be based on the conveyed medium, operating temperature, working pressure and project conditions. For water, oil, chemicals, seawater or other special media, the required rubber compound should be confirmed before quotation rather than selected only by product size.

Installation Guidelines

Correct installation is essential for reliable rubber expansion joint performance.

Align the piping before installation.

Do not use the joint to correct severe pipe misalignment.

Install the joint in its natural condition.

Do not force it into excessive extension, compression or torsion.

Provide suitable pipe supports, anchors and guides.

The expansion joint should not carry unsupported pipeline weight.

Tighten flange bolts diagonally and evenly.

Apply tightening progressively around the flange.

Support suspended water-supply piping above DN200.

Use a fixed support bracket or a pull-off prevention device as specified in the Mingchao catalog.
